NC State GXID
NC State’s GXID program is a leader in design, but its Instagram presence did not reflect that. I developed a cohesive visual system that united Graphic and Industrial Design under a single aesthetic. The outcome? A professional-looking feed that has attracted 400 new followers and continues to grow.

The Problem
The Graphic and Industrial Design programs share one social media account, but they were lacking a consistent look. Without a clear system, the feed felt unorganized, making it hard for prospective students and alumni to see the program's true value. We needed to follow NC State’s strict branding while giving each major its own "vibe."
My objective was to build a modular template system that:
Identifies each program instantly.
Simplifies the posting process for the department.
Increases engagement by creating a "must-follow" visual experience.
The Goal
The Process
oT solve the identity crisis, I used a simple "shape language" to differentiate the disciplines:
Industrial Design: Used rectangles and squares to represent structure and physical objects.
Graphic Design: Used circles and semi-circles to represent layout, flow, and communication.
I combined these shapes with NC State’s signature color branding to ensure everything felt like part of the larger University family.
The Solution
I delivered a suite of "plug-and-play" Instagram templates. This system allows the department to post news, student spotlights, and event updates in seconds. The shapes act as a visual anchor, so even though the content changes, the brand always feels cohesive and intentional.
Alumni Updates
Events or news on any important information for industrial design.
Graphic and Experience Design Spotlight IG Story.
Pfp for the programs Instagram page.
Industrial Design Spotlight IG Story.
Student projects completed during the school semester.
Posting updates on IG stories.
Outcome
Since launching the new visual system, the GXID Instagram has seen a gradual increase of 400 followers. Beyond the numbers, the department now has a digital storefront that finally matches the high quality of the design work being done in its studios.
